在台灣當過兵的男生，特別是1980年代以前(也就是現在年齡35歲以上)，當時還算民風保守的時代，也沒有女兵在軍營內(女軍官倒有)。一般而言，個子嬌小，長相斯文的男生有機會成為被霸凌的對象；然而，換個角度思考，若嘴巴甜，會適時撒嬌(要特別強調，不是娘喔)的斯文男，反而有時成為無往不利，打遍通關的優勢喔。
Most men in Taiwan have experienced military service. Before the 1980s, when social atmosphere was relatively conservative in Taiwan, some men who are petite and soft-spoken could sometimes become targets of bullying. However, nowadays, the situation has changed. If you are a well-mannered sweet talker, sometimes it can open more doors.
曾經有位個子嬌小的同志朋友G先生分享道，因為他小時候在國外長大，加上回台有英文家教經驗，軍中時有英文能力檢測，他成為軍官們的英語小老師。此外，他常掛笑容在臉上，本來人緣不錯。當時的連長(是異男)想要加強英文，所以會在就寢後獨自找他學習英文。G先生說如果連長沒有認真，他可以往連長大腿上拍下去，然後用比較溫柔的責備方式，竟然也行得通。還有部隊同袍的一些直男們會因為他個子嬌小，主動幫他抬些重物，似乎他變成是女孩兒來著的。最不可思議的是，他在退伍前希望能找同袍跟他嘴對嘴接吻，竟然都有20來個成功！聽一聽他的故事，只能說不知道G先生是位當兵期間幸運的個案，還是類似情況真可能在國軍部隊發生，沒有相關統計，因此就不得而知了。
A friend, Mr. G, grew up abroad and worked as an English tutor after he returned to Taiwan. With the English assessment in the military, he became the English tutor for the officers. In addition, constantly wearing a smile, he was a popular individual. His commander at that time (a straight guy) wanted to improve his English and asked for his help. According to Mr. G, he would gently slap the commander’s lap if the commander didn't work hard enough. This is simply incredible. What’s more, because of his petite physique, many comrades would carry heavy items for him. Most unbelievably, Mr. G wanted to find someone to kiss before he retired from his service and ended up kissing more than 20 guys. Now, is Mr. G an exception or do similar cases still happen in the military? That, we do not know.
