媽祖遶境為陸台重要信仰活動
Mazu’s Annual Pilgrimage Tour - An Important Religious Event in Taiwan and Mainland China
為期9天8夜的大甲媽祖遶境，在台灣民俗信仰活動扮演著非常重要的角色，農曆3月23日為媽祖聖誕，台灣大陸南部沿海各地有媽祖信仰地區皆有慶祝活動。而「天上聖母」遶境進香是台灣鎮瀾宮一年中最大且最重要的活動。每年大甲媽祖遶境進香的日子並不固定，都是在當年的元宵節由鎮瀾宮董事長擲筊決定進香出發的日期與時辰。
Lasting 9 days and 8 nights, Dajia Mazu’s annual pilgrimage tour plays a very important role in Taiwan’s folk beliefs. Every year, the 23rd of March in the Lunar Calendar is Godess Mazu’s birthday. On this day, there are usually celebrations along the coast of Taiwan as well as the southern coast of Mainland China. And the pilgrimage event held by Zhenlan Temple every year is one of their largest events. Every year, the event falls on a different date. The date and time for the pilgrimage are determined during the Lantern Festival that year by the director of Zhenlan Temple casting the moon blocks.
而今年遶境時，破天荒首次有同志團體「婚姻平權大平台」公開隨行，活動領導人呂欣潔帶領現場男女同志，手持馨香祈求媽祖保佑、守護這群遭受霸凌和歧視的同志們。希望同志在長期社會、法律的不平等下，心靈寄託的信仰能夠獲得依歸，創立臉書「媽祖的愛裡不分異同」專頁，為的是讓同志夥伴明白，自己並非異族，也同樣都受神佛所愛。
For the first time in the history, a LGBTQ group participated in this year’s pilgrimage, led by Xinjie Lu. Holding incense, the group prayed to Mazu for protection and blessing. Long being treated unfairly by the society and its laws, the group hoped to find belonging with religion. They also started a Facebook page dedicated to the followers of Mazu. The intention was to show the LGBTQ community that every one is loved by the gods regardless of their sexual orientation.

3月26日當天發生一件神奇的事情，當同志團體擺設好迎接媽祖的攤位，並架起彩虹旗，恭候媽祖帶來。媽祖鑾轎漸漸靠近，民眾們將壓轎金疊成轎椅恭候媽祖，鑾轎路過時還特別多做停留，才示意持續往前進。現場的錄影檔成為最佳影像保留證明。神明聽見同志的請求，無論性傾向為何，心存正念，神佛都庇祐。
Something miraculous happened on March 26th. The LGBTQ group set up its booth and erected its rainbow flag, waiting for Mazu’s arrival. When Mazu’s sedan approached, the group greeted and made offerings to Mazu. A video shows what happened on the day. The Goddess has heard the prayers from the LGBTQ community. As long as we all keep a kind and righteous spirit, the Goddess will watch over us.
